Recovery, Addiction, Assessment

Recovery, Addiction, Assessment and Outpatient Philosophy

Addiction is a complex, multifaceted disease that affects the whole person. It disrupts a person's physical, psychological, interpersonal, emotional and spiritual life. The goal of Twin Town Treatment Center's Outpatient Program is to initiate a process of recovery through guided practice in making natural, planned changes in behavior, with the anticipated outcome of a chemically free and comfortable lifestyle. Programs are segregated by developmental age: developmental age 12-17 for Adolescent Services; developmental age 18 and older for Adult Services.

After an assessment of the problems, patients and their families are assisted in making self-enhancing behavioral and emotional changes and in using self-help programs and techniques for lasting recovery from addiction. Twin Town Treatment Center's focus of assessment and care is on addiction, as well as coping, communication and recovery skills for the patient and family members. Twin Town Treatment Center's Program offers treatment, which emphasizes

· Addiction Assessment
· Abstinence· Relapse Prevention
· Education on the Medical Model of Addiction
· Family Codependency Counseling
· Problem Solving Skills
· Stress Management

Family Program
Twin Town Treatment Center believes addiction to be a family illness and that all family members are affected by the patient's use of drugs and/or alcohol. The Multi-Family Program is designed to assist family member recovery for those whose lives have been affected by the behaviors and attitudes of their loved ones' addiction.

Focus of the recovery program is on acceptance of the family member's addiction and methods for producing the desired changes. Integration of formal family program within 12-Step community based programs is encouraged as a focus of family recovery.

Programming for Relapse Prevention is considered to be an integral part of formal day treatment and outpatient addiction treatment services. Addiction is a chronic, relapsing disease. Recovery is a life-long prospect.
